Thus, it would be impossible for everybody not to see your face fully. This self-consciousness about your face is the reason that makes Angular Cheilitis one of the most dreaded non-threatening diseases that could happen to a person.

If you already have a red sore at corner of mouth, this could be one of the signals that you are already heading towards suffering Angular Cheilitis like many other people that belong to your community. Having red sores at corner of mouth is quite annoying since you would need to hide them from other people. When you normally do not have this sore near your mouth, people would really be curious and you would not be able to avoid these curious questions.

There are certain tips that you can follow so you will get rid of the red sore at corners of mouth.

1. Protect the affected areas of your mouth from dust, water, and the like so as not to aggravate the infection that these areas already have. If you will not take good care of your wounds, splits, and cracks, these would really get too infected and leave ugly marks that would become scars eventually.

2. You can protect the affected areas such as your wounded mouth and lips with a scarf or a mask so that germs would not be able to enter into your open skin. If the environment that you are in is too hot or too cold, your infection will only get worse.

3. Stop licking your lips because this will only dry your lips up even more.

4. Use humidifier to put the right amount of moisture on your lips.

5. Drink lots of water to help cure the red sore corner at mouth.

6. If infection does not seem to heed your medications, visit the doctor again.

7. Use anti-fungal treatment in case of yeast infection.

Cracked Corners of the Mouth - What To Do With Them

You can only imagine the pain you will go through if you are experiencing cracked corners of the mouth. People around the world have been suffering from such affliction. Many are not aware that this could be an inflammatory skin condition called Angular Cheilitis. Other related medical terms for this disease are Angular Chelosis or Perleche. It is characterized not just by cracked corners of the mouth but also sore, swelling and even pus. Because our mouth is used for activities like chewing, talking, and smiling, these cracks may not easily heal. In fact, once the lesions crack open, bleeding occurs. Affected individuals become frustrated with the slow cure of the infection, even with the use of treatments. When the wounds heal, whitish flakes develop on the affected part, making it look unsightly to others.

Why do some people get Angular Cheilitis? What causes cracked corners of the mouth? The following are possible factors we have to aware of:

a. Bacteria or fungi and other pathogens are the most common cause for this. Some people mainly use antifungal creams to treat the disease, although this remedy can be rarely effective.
b. Vitamin B and iron deficiency is also another common factor one must consider. Our body needs sufficient vitamins and minerals to build a strong immune system so we won’t be easily attacked with unwanted diseases. Lack of proper nutrients will only make us prone to infections such as this.
c. A lot of people may not realize it but poorly-fitted dentures can also be a possible cause. You might want to check with your dentist for any problems with your dentures. Some dentists will require you to soak your dentures in a solution to get rid of bacteria accumulating on it. If unattended, it will result to cracked corners of the mouth.
